Bio

Andrew Smith has over 30 years of industry experience and is Chairman of Spouting Rock. He joined the firm in 2018 as Chief Executive, and under his leadership, the firm has grown into a multi-boutique asset manager platform that provides alternative, traditional and thematic investment solutions and services. Prior to SRAM, he was the co-head of Americas and chief operating officer for Aberdeen Asset Management Inc. While at Aberdeen, he held additional roles including chief compliance officer for the North American Closed-End Funds and chief financial officer for Aberdeen in the Americas. Andrew began his career with Murray Johnstone (later acquired by Aberdeen) where he held a number of financial roles before transferring to their US subsidiary. He attended Glasgow University and holds an Accounting HND from Glasgow College of Commerce. Andrew also enjoys golf, swimming and traveling with his family.
