Paul is a Co-Founder and President of Sperry, Mitchell & Company. He is also Chair of Percival Scientific, a leading Iowa-based designer and manufacturer of biological incubators and plant growth chambers, and is a Board Member of Millrock Technologies, a leading designer and producer of freeze-drying equipment serving the biopharma market. Paul is Chair of the Governing Council of the American Antiquarian Society (Worcester, MA), Treasurer and a member of the Executive Board of the Omohundro Institute of Early American History & Culture (Williamsburg, VA), and a member of the Board of Visitors of the History Department at Columbia University. After thirty years, he recently retired from the Board of the Guttmacher Institute, having previously served as Chair of the Board and Chair of the Executive Committee. As a third generation member of a family-owned group of graphic arts companies, Paul has direct experience in the many issues and complexities associated with managing and selling family-owned businesses. Paul is a frequent lecturer and featured speaker at M&A seminars, industry conferences and trade functions, including the Association for Corporate Growth and the Young Presidents’ Organization. In addition, he has acted as an expert witness in several court jurisdictions, and as a mediator in commercial disputes. Paul has served as a member of various State Department/USAID sponsored Economic Development Missions to Eastern Europe. Paul earned a B.A. with honors from Trinity College and an M.A. from Columbia University.
