Jason Russell is a Managing Director specializing in Software & Disruptive Technologies within PJ SOLOMON’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group. Mr. Russell has extensive experience advising clients across the Technology, Industrial and Services landscape. He specializes in sectors that are going through digital transformation with a focus on software and technology for supply chain & logistics, retail/commerce, and industrials. He differentiates by providing strategic and sector-specific advice, combining superior end-market knowledge as well as software and technology expertise. His experience includes sell-side and buy-side M&A, equity fundraising and debt financing. Mr. Russell advised TrueCommerce, a leading provider of trading partner connectivity and integration solutions, on its sale to Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe; Rand McNally, a leader in transportation technologies, on its sale to Teleo; 3Gtms, a leader in transportation management software, on its sale to Sumeru; Körber AG on its acquisition of HighJump, a leading warehouse management software specialist; Michelin on its acquisition of Sascar, Brazil’s largest digital fleet management software provider; Gates, a leader in power transmission products, on its sale to Blackstone; Vivint, a leader in smart home technologies, on its sale to Blackstone; Eaton on its sale of its Aerospace Power Distribution and Integrated Cockpit Solutions businesses to Safran; ADT on its acquisition of Protectron, Canada’s leading provider of smart home security; Monitronics, a leader in smart home security, on its sale to Ascent Capital; Eaton on its acquisition of Cooper, a leader in electrical and smart grid technologies; Carlisle Companies on its $410 million acquisition of Hawk Corporation. Prior to joining PJ SOLOMON, Mr. Russell worked at Citi as an investment banker, Lear Corporation as a quality manager, and Caliber Logistics (acquired by FedEx) as an industrial engineer. Mr. Russell received an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan (graduated with distinction) and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial & Systems Engineering from The Ohio State University.
