Gilbert Baltzer is a Vice President in Financing Advisory. He joined Solomon Partners in 2014. Gilbert has experience advising clients on mergers, acquisitions, capital raises and restructurings. Select prior assignments include advising Perry Ellis on a multi-tranche financing to refinance existing debt, Brooks Brothers on its Chapter 11 filing and Section 363 sale to SPARC Group for $325 million, 3Gtms on the sale of a majority stake to Sumeru Equity Partners, Apollo Global Management on the acquisition of Qdoba from Jack in the Box for $305 million, Phillips Van Heusen on the acquisition from Apax Partners of the remaining interest in the Tommy Hilfiger China Joint Venture for $272 million, and Clairvest Group on the sale of Cieslok Media to Bell Media. Gilbert is a cum laude graduate of The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a B.S. in economics with concentrations in finance and operations and information management, and minors in Chinese and computer science.
