Angus is a senior corporate financier and a lead transaction partner at the firm. He has established a strong reputation for providing clear and practical board-level advice to public and private companies, with a particular focus on sell-side M&A situations. His experience spans a range of sectors and geographies, and he is known for his breadth of perspective as well as the attention to detail that is one of the hallmarks of Smith Square Partners. With a deep understanding of the strategic and financial issues facing entrepreneurial and high-growth businesses, Angus is particularly active advising in the technology and tech-enabled sectors. His many contacts in the world of family offices bring an added dimension to the firm’s capital raising practice. Angus qualified as a solicitor with Shearman and Sterling in London, having begun his career at Arthur Andersen. Before joining Smith Square Partners, Angus was a board member and ran the corporate finance activities of LGB & Co., the boutique merchant bank. Angus was born and grew up in South Africa, where he retains a number of professional and personal interests.
