Ben has experience in many sectors and geographies, having been a corporate financier for over 30 years. He has advised numerous companies, public and private, on M&A, capital raisings, restructurings and capital markets transactions over the course of his career. Ben is known for his agile and determined style in providing advice to boards and leading complex negotiations, often in high-pressure and high-value circumstances. Ben began his career at J Henry Schroder Wagg and Barclays de Zoete Wedd, later joining Credit Suisse First Boston as a Managing Director. He was part of the senior team which helped Hawkpoint Partners to grow, leading to its eventual sale. That experience was brought to the fore when, with John Craven, Smith Square Partners was established in 2010. Ben’s insights into corporate life have been enhanced by his roles until recently as a non-executive director of Homeserve plc and Alternative Networks plc.
