José specialises in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) working for both industrial clients and private equity funds. Before that, from 2006 to 2009, he was a Director at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) where he oversaw the start-up of the bank’s activity in Brazil and the launch of the structured finance business in Latam, focusing on the areas of project finance, export finance and foreign trade. During his first stage at RBS, he was responsible for an account portfolio that included some of the main Spanish companies in the technology and telecommunications sector. Likewise, he accumulated experience leading the relationship with clients in the electricity sector. Earlier, he worked for 6 years at Arthur Andersen, on consulting projects for large clients, for the definition and implementation of financial, operational, and business risk models, both in their local markets and internationally. He began his professional career at Unión Fenosa, in charge of various civil works projects. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Cantabria, Executive MBA from the Instituto de Empresa and PADE from the IESE Business School.
