Bio

Álvaro is an expert in the infrastructure and energy sectors. Previously, between 2005 and 2009, he was Director of the Project Finance department of RBS in Spain and Portugal, leading numerous financings, and advisory operations, both in the energy and infrastructure areas. In addition, he was responsible for the evaluation and design of financing structures, financial modelling, coordination of due diligence processes, obtaining internal approvals and negotiating commercial and financing contracts. Between 2002 and 2005, he worked as VP in the Project Finance department of BBVA in Madrid, completing financing and advisory transactions at a national and international level. Before that, he worked in the London office of Enron Europe Limited, on the Structuring Table, overseeing the valuation and design of commodity derivatives structures (gas and electricity). Later, he became part of the Finance Group, where he started in the finance area with the projects that Enron developed in Europe. He holds an Industrial Engineering degree from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, an MBA from the IESE Business School and is a CFA Charterholder.
