Jim Kelly joined Scotiabank as Co-Head, Global Investment Banking and Canadian & U.S. Corporate Banking in January 2021. In this role, he is responsible for Global Investment Banking across all industry groups, Canadian & U.S. Corporate Banking, Merger and Acquisition activities and Equity Capital Markets. Jim brings over 30 years of U.S.-based corporate and investment banking experience and has delivered client solutions in all major geographies. He joined Scotiabank from HSBC, where over the prior 16 years, he held a number of increasingly-senior positions in the Global Banking group, most recently serving as the Head of Corporate Banking for North America. Prior to joining HSBC, he led client teams in the Investment Banking Groups at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. Jim holds a BA from Lafayette College and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
