Bio

Ryan Oatman joined the energy and power investment banking group at Piper Sandler in 2016 and focuses on the midstream & downstream and renewables & clean energy sectors. He represents sellers and buyers across a diverse set of geographies and sub-industries and has advised clients in related-party and restructuring transactions. Prior to joining the firm, Oatman spent eight years in equity research, where he covered the upstream sector and opined on oil and gas prices. Oatman graduated magna cum laude from Trinity University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with concentrations in accounting and finance. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University in 2007 and obtained his CFA® charter in 2011.
