Chris Schultz is a managing director at Piper Sandler Finance, LLC. Schultz joined Piper Sandler in early 2018 and is primarily responsible for structuring, underwriting and managing investments. He has nearly two decades of industry experience focused in middle market lending, public and private high yield, special situations, structured finance and distressed credit across industry sectors. Before joining the firm, Schultz spent three years as a vice president at Citigroup in debt capital markets where he diligenced, underwrote and managed a portfolio of principal investments. Prior to joining Citigroup, Schultz spent seven years at CarVal Investors conducting extensive business and financial due diligence, analyzing and negotiating legal agreements, and managing a portfolio of credit intensive investments. Schultz began his career in the TMT investment banking group at Bear Stearns. Schultz graduated high distinction with a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
