Bio

Matthew has more than 25 years of capital markets experience that encompasses investment banking, leveraged finance, corporate development, and corporate strategy. He has been involved as intermediary and principal in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures valued at over $6 billion, and debt and equity capital raises in excess of $15 billion. In addition, he has completed public and private transactions ranging in size and scope from domestic middle market to complex cross border deals in a myriad of industries including media, publishing, medical technology, consumer products, and energy infrastructure. Before his Wall Street career, Matthew served as head of Corporate Development at Simon & Schuster where he managed the acquisition and integration of over 30 businesses and the divestiture of five business units. Prior to founding Rockland Advisory Group, Matthew was a Partner with Catalyst Capital Advisors, LLC and its predecessor firm, Peregrine Capital Partners, LLC, boutique investment banks focused on the middle market. Before that, he created and managed M&T Bank’s Capital Market Group, and previously Matthew worked at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein where he held positions in the Private Placement Group and Investment Banking. Matthew serves on the Board of Advisors for Alliance Mezzanine Investors LP, an SBIC mezzanine fund and is a lecturer at The George Washington University. Matthew graduated with a B.B.A. from The George Washington University, with concentrations in Finance and Political Science, and received an M.B.A. from Fordham University Graduate School of Business.
