Alexandra Lebenthal is a Managing Director and Senior Banker with responsibility for leading coverage of financial sponsors at Rockefeller Strategic Advisory. She brings more than 35 years of financial services experience to the firm and recognition as a leader and advocate for women in the industry. Prior to Rockefeller, Ms. Lebenthal was a Senior Advisor in the Financial Sponsors Group at Houlihan Lokey, where she led an initiative focused on women led and founded companies. Before joining Houlihan in August 2020, she was CEO of Lebenthal Holdings, a diversified financial services firm. Ms. Lebenthal hails from a prominent Wall Street family. Her grandparents founded Lebenthal & Co., Inc., a municipal bond specialist, in 1925. Her father, Jim Lebenthal, helped create a mass market for municipal bonds. After starting her career at Kidder Peabody, Ms. Lebenthal joined Lebenthal in 1988 and became President and CEO in 1995 at the age of 31. After successfully diversifying the firm, she oversaw its sale in 2001 to The Advest Group, remaining there until its subsequent sale to Merrill Lynch in 2005. Two years later, she started anew, building Lebenthal Holdings into an asset management, wealth management and capital markets boutique. Ms. Lebenthal has extensive public and private board experience. She is currently an advisory board member for Interprice Technologies and has served on several public boards. She is a former Treasurer of the Securities Industry Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), and a Regional Vice Chair of C200, a leading organization for female businesswomen. Among many recognitions, Ms. Lebenthal was named one of the Top 50 Women in Wealth Management by Wealth Manager Magazine. In 2022, she was named to Crain’s New York Business’ 2022 Notable Women on Wall Street and to the 2023 Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A by Mergers & Acquisitions Magazine. She is Co-Founder of the Women’s Executive Circle of UJJA Federation NY and a leader in other women’s business organizations. Ms. Lebenthal, who lives in New York City, holds an A.B. in History from Princeton University.
