Viktor Arak obtained his LLM law degree from Stockholm University in 1998 and subsequently worked as an M&A lawyer for a major Swedish law firm, Setterwalls, until he joined Electrolux as Group Legal Counsel responsible for M&A in 2001. In 2002, Electrolux stationed him in China where he has been living ever since. During his tenure with Electrolux, Viktor Arak carried out a large number of acquisitions and divestments in Europe, China and India. 2009-2011 he served as the Managing Director of Eriez Magnetics in China and 2011-2013 as Managing Director China for a large division of a private equity owned Finnish metallurgical conglomerate, Luvata. Since 2014, Viktor has acted as a financial advisor through his own firm to a number of Chinese private and state-owned companies in connection with their acquisitions in Europe and has also been advising European clients in connection with their investments in China. He has also served as the Beijing Chair of the Investment Working Group of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China between 2016-2019 and has participated in a number of high level lobbying activities in relation to the central government on behalf of European businesses. In addition to English, Viktor is proficient in Mandarin, German and Swedish, among other languages.
