James Zehentbauer is a principal of RA Capital. Mr. Zehentbauer previously was a founding member of Relational Group, an investment management and financial firm, which included Relational Investors and Relational Advisors, a predecessor company to RA Capital. Mr. Zehentbauer served as the COO of Relational Investors. Mr. Zehentbauer was also a founding member of Titan Investment Partners, a venture capital fund that invests in software and software enabled service firms. Mr. Zehentbauer served as a key advisor to a number of private and public entities, typically targeting investment opportunities, negotiating acquisitions and heading restructuring/financing activities. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Zehentbauer was employed by Arthur Andersen & Co., where he worked primarily with publicly-traded oil and gas companies and specialized in public debt and equity offerings. Mr. Zehentbauer served on the board of directors of MacFrugal’s Bargains Close-Outs Inc. from 1990 to 1998 where he chaired the audit committee. Mr. Zehentbauer has also served as a board member for a number of private corporations. A 1984 graduate of Ohio State University, Mr. Zehentbauer holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and a FINRA-registered principal.
