With deep expertise in enterprise software and technology, particularly supply chain, healthcare, fintech, and edtech, Derek brings a new perspective to Progress Partners, leveraging his broad network of relationships with corporates and equity investors along with mid-market M&A and capital-raising experience honed over 30 years in technology investment banking. Prior to joining Progress Partners, Derek was co-founder and Managing Director of Ion Partners LLC, a boutique investment banking firm that provides M&A and capital-raising advice to emerging technology companies. Derek started his career at Lehman Brothers and worked at a number of national investment banks prior to co-founding Ion Partners in 2003. Derek earned a Master’s Degree in Public and Private Management (MPPM) from the Yale School of Management and an undergraduate degree in Economics at Amherst College, where he subsequently served for five years as the Alumni Class President.
