Sam Karotkin Bio

Sam Karotkin is a managing director in the restructuring investment banking group at Piper Sandler. Karotkin joined Piper Sandler in 2023 with 10 years of investment banking experience. Previously, he was a director in the restructuring investment banking group at Rothschild & Co. He has a broad range of transactional experience, including company side and creditor assignments involving in court and out of court recapitalizations and refinancings, as well as M&A and strategic advisory representations. Prior to Rothschild & Co, he spent five years with Sempra Energy, formerly RBS Sempra Commodities, where he was a trader in the power group. Karotkin graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Tufts University and received his Master of Business Administration degree from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
