John Robertshaw Bio

John Robertshaw is a managing director and vice chairman of the private capital advisory group, Aviditi Advisors at Piper Sandler. Prior to joining Piper Sandler, Robertshaw served as chairman & co-founder at Aviditi Advisors. Robertshaw has more than 30 years of financial experience as a senior management member and business builder of the leading private placement/advisory groups at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse Securities. He has originated, executed or has been part of more than 300 capital raises, aggregating more than $450 billion, co-heading Credit Suisse’s private funds group from 2004 to 2013. In 2007, he was also named one of the 50 most influential people in private equity in 2007 by Private Equity International. He is also the co-founder, former chairman and one of the leading investors of iCapital, a global, market leading financial technology platform that simplifies access to alternative investments for high net worth, broker dealer and wealth platforms with approximately $200 billion of private equity, hedge fund and other alternative assets on its platform. The company has been consistently recognized for its outstanding innovation, fintech industry leadership and performance, including Forbes FinTech 50 winner for seven consecutive years from 2018 to 2024, MMI/Barron’s Industry Awards as Solutions Provider of the Year for four consecutive terms from 2020 to 2023 and CNBC the World’s Top 250 Fintech Companies in 2024. Robertshaw received his bachelor’s degree in English literature from Yale University.
