Jeff Chen Bio

Jeff Chen is a managing director in the chemicals group at Piper Sandler. Prior to joining the firm, Chen spent 16 years at Lazard, Inc. as a managing director where he led private market advisory for the chemicals and materials practice for a decade. Previously, he was a business development manager at 3M Company, where he developed global strategic and operating plans along with negotiating M&A and technology investments. Earlier in his career, he served in various industry related roles. Chen has advised on over 50 merger and acquisition transactions and capital raises for a wide variety of clients, including global public companies, private equity firms and privately held businesses. Chen graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor’s degree, received a master’s of science degree in engineering from Princeton University and his Master of Business Administration degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
