Telly Zachariades is a managing director in the chemicals & materials group at Piper Sandler. He was one of the founding partners of The Valence Group and has more than 36 years of investment banking experience – all in the chemicals industry and predominantly in M&A. Zachariades co-manages The Valence Group's global operations and is primarily responsible for its North American business. Over his career, Zachariades has advised on more than 100 completed M&A transactions totaling over $30 billion for a wide variety of clients, including major publicly-listed corporations, private companies and private equity firms in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Prior to establishing The Valence Group, Zachariades spent seven years as global head of Bear Stearns' chemicals investment banking practice based in New York and, prior to then, 17 years at Chase Manhattan in both London and New York as a senior investment banker covering the chemicals industry. Zachariades earned a bachelor's degree in naval architecture and a master's degree in engineering from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
