John Prunier has spent more than 20 years covering the media, information, and marketing services industries as a career investment banker. Along with CG Petsky Prunier’s other partners, John leads client engagements as well as manages the firm’s team of merger & acquisition professionals. Prior to co-founding CG Petsky Prunier and Winterberry Group in 1999, John served as the head of the business information services and education publishing group at Veronis Suhler Stevenson (VSS), a New York merchant bank specializing in the media and communications industry. During his tenure at VSS, he led numerous transactions across a broad span of media sectors, including consumer magazine publishing, cable television and information services. Prior to joining VSS, John served as an associate with Morgan, Hughes & Company, a Greenwich, Connecticut-based investment firm. He began his career as a financial analyst at Merrill Lynch in the company's Los Angeles-based public finance group. As an industry expert, John has been a featured speaker at industry conferences, including those sponsored by the Electronic Retailing Association, ICOM, American Medical Publishers Association, IAB, Directory & Database Publishers Association (U.K.) and the Professional/Scholarly Publishers Division of the Association of American Publishers. John holds a B.A. from Colgate University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
