Dan Bass joined Performance Trust in 2012 to expand their reach in the investment banking arena. He brings over 30 years of industry experience to his role. Prior to joining Performance Trust, Dan was the Managing Director at FBR Capital Markets and Carson Medlin Investment Bankers, where he announced more Texas bank M&A deals from 2008 to 2010 than any other investment banker in the nation. Previously, Dan was the Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions with Compass Bank, a $30 billion Sunbelt-based financial services company. Dan's primary focus was to identify, negotiate, analyze, and value potential acquisition candidates. Types of prospects included commercial banks and thrifts, insurance agencies, and investment advisory firms. Prior to joining Compass Bank, Dan had many years of consulting and regulatory experience and provided a wide range of services to the financial industry throughout the United States. His consulting career includes numerous profit improvement engagements and brokering several community banks ranging in asset size from $25 million to $6 billion. Dan has performed over 200 business valuations for a multitude of reasons, including tax and estate planning, employee stock ownership plans, private placements, buy/sell agreements, exchange ratio determinations, dissenters' rights proceedings, reverse stock splits, and fairness opinions. Dan has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science degree in Information Management from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and an Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuations. Dan is frequently quoted in state and national banking publications and is a past speaker at numerous executive management seminars on financial institution acquisition topics.
