John Zhang Bio

John is the principal and co-founder of Oaklins HFG China. As a columnist for Shanghai Securities News and other major financial newspapers in China, John is recognized as one of the leading experts in emerging capital markets and cross-border transactions, with particular expertise in new materials, healthcare and energy. High-profile clients he has advised include Crerax, BAK Battery, Global Solar, Mingyang Group, Helpson and Winner Medical. John’s active involvement in the investment and financial industry dates back to 1996, when he started his career as the deputy chief representative in charge of direct investments for Canada Co., Ltd.’s Shanghai office. In 2003, John returned to China and founded Oaklins HFG China. John has an MBA from Harvard University.
