Richard is a managing partner and founder of Olimpia Partners, one of Oaklins’ member firms in Brazil. He has over 35 years of banking experience and has been involved in numerous transactions, having participated in the origination and execution of mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and equity and debt offerings across multiple industries and sectors. Notable transactions include the acquisition of Corsan by Aegea Saneamento as part of the privatization process led by the state of Rio Grande do Sul; the sale of Elizabeth Revestimentos, one of the largest ceramic tiles (wet process) manufacturers in Brazil, to Eliane Revestimentos, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries; and the combination of SulAmérica, a leading insurance company in Brazil, with Rede D’Or São Luiz, the largest Brazilian hospital network. Currently, Richard is a board member at JHSF, a luxury real estate group. Prior to founding Olimpia Partners, Richard was the country head for Merrill Lynch in Brazil and was responsible for the investment banking division. Before joining Merrill Lynch, he was a senior executive at Banco Multiplic and at Morgan Grenfell & Co. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York and completed his MBA at Fordham University.
