Gianluca is a managing director at Oaklins Italy and head of its diversified industries team, focusing on automotive, energy, transportation & logistics and TMT. He has extensive experience in sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions for mostly corporate clients, and also has expertise in ECM deals, such as IPOs, tender offers and ABOs. Notable projects he has advised on include the fairness opinion for the merger between SIA, Nexi and Nets; the sale of 35MGW solar plants to a Danish player; the acquisition of Sirti Transportation by Mermec; and providing advisory services to Salcef in its merger with the Italian SPAC, Industrial Stars of Italy 3. More recently, he advised InRail on the sale of a 75% stake to Autostrada del Brennero SpA-Brennerautobahn AG (transportation & logistics) and Linkem on its sale to Tiscali (TMT) in addition to providing a fairness opinion for this latter transaction. Prior to joining Oaklins Italy in 2021, Gianluca spent more than 23 years at Mediobanca, rising to executive director, and three years as head of the investment banking pool at Banca Akros, responsible for the setup and coordination of the M&A execution team. Gianluca has two master’s degrees, one in business & administration from Bocconi University and the other in law. He has been an auditor and certified accountant since 1997.
