Mat Marcussen Bio

Mat Marcussen is a Director at Northborne Partners. Mat brings over a decade of experience across a variety of industries, including industrial manufacturing and distribution, building materials and products, transportation and logistics, business services, and e-Commerce, among others. Prior to joining Northborne, Mat served as a Vice President on the Mergers & Acquisitions team at BMO Capital Markets, where he was responsible for executing M&A transactions and originating deals by maintaining relationships with commercial banking and sponsor finance counterparts. Mat also served as a Senior Associate in BMO Harris Bank’s Financial Advisory Services group, providing corporate finance advisory services to family offices, privately held middle market companies, and ESOPs. Mat began his career at Chartwell, where he worked on several buy- and sell-side transactions with a focus on ESOP transactions, maintaining an annual valuation portfolio of 40+ entities and providing fairness and solvency opinions to satisfy the ERISA and Department of Labor regulatory requirements for ESOP owned companies. Mat holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.
