Bio

Michael Horwitz is a Managing Director at Nomura Greentech. Based in San Francisco, Michael leads the firm’s practice in Energy and Industrial Technology Services and Renewable Energy Value Chain both domestically and globally, and has over 25 years of experience advising companies and investors in the energy sector. His recent transaction experience includes advising Stem on their acquisition of AlsoEnergy; AMPLY on its sale to bp; Inspire Clean Energy’s sale to Shell and Enbala on its sale to Generac. He has also advised corporate clients on strategic M&A, including General Electric on its divestiture of GE Current and Schneider Electric on its investment in Uplight. Michael joined Nomura Greentech from Robert W. Baird & Co where he was Head of Energy Technology Investment Banking and spent several years as Managing Director of Baird’s Energy Technology research efforts. Michael has been cited by the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Businessweek and appeared on CNBC to share his views on the new energy markets. Michael received bachelors’ degrees in Financial Economics and Philosophy from Southern Methodist University.
