Komu Kumar is a Managing Director at Nomura Greentech. Based in New York, Komu has spent over 15 years specializing in renewable energy, cleantech, and infrastructure sectors across investment banking, private equity, and the public sector. Komu’s recent notable transaction experience includes advising Intersect Power on its growth equity investment from TPG Rise and other investors; ChargePoint on its reverse merger with Switchback Energy, along with the company’s first follow-on equity offering post Business Combination close; PG&E on financing the company’s emergence from Chapter 11, along with a lead role on restructuring its liabilities associated with the 2017 and 2018 California wildfires. Prior to joining Nomura Greentech, Komu was at BofA Securities, Inc. and a member of the Investment Banking team, covering renewable energy, cleantech, EV charging, and power and utilities. Prior to joining BofA Securities, Komu was a member of the Power, Utilities, Renewables and Infrastructure M&A group at Lazard. Komu has experience advising clients on public and private M&A transactions, SPACs, IPOs, private capital raises, restructuring mandates and other strategic assignments. Komu also worked in AMP Capital’s Infrastructure Private Equity team and with the Australian Federal Government, focusing on renewable energy and infrastructure. Komu holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto with a specialist in Finance and a major in Economics.
