David Theys joined Nielen Schuman in 2017 to build out the firm’s Belgian activities. David is a seasoned advisor with 21 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience in complex public and private M&A transactions, financial restructurings and capital raisings for both corporate clients and financial investors. David started his career in 1996 in Paris, but soon moved to London to work for 13 years in M&A for Morgan Stanley, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Arma Partners. He subsequently moved to Moscow to head Sberbank’s TMT Investment Banking practice. He returned to his native Belgium early 2016 and joined local M&A boutique Clairfield Benelux to focus on mid-market M&A transactions in Belgium and the Netherlands. David obtained a Masters in Management from ESSEC Graduate School of Business in Paris and a Masters of Science in Electro technical Engineering specializing in Telecommunications from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. David holds the Belgian nationality and currently lives in Antwerp. He is fluent in English, Dutch and French and conversational in Russian.
