Dayton Horvath Bio

Dayton Horvath provides advisory services to entrepreneurs and executives involved in advanced manufacturing, materials, and related software technologies. At NewCap Partners, he supports corporate development, merger and acquisition, and financing activities with a specialization in market analysis and emerging technology trends. Current focus areas include industrial additive manufacturing (3D printing), robotics and automation, industrial software, and their funding dynamics. Dayton also serves as the Director of Emerging Technology at AMT–The Association For Manufacturing Technology, a non-profit trade organization that represents the manufacturing technology industry. At AMT, he leads research subscription services, emerging technologies market research coverage, and co-organizes the biannual IMTS Investor Forum. Prior to joining NewCap, Dayton worked as an industry analyst and consultant with select Fortune 500 corporations and venture-backed startup clients. Preceding his work as a consultant, Dayton led the Materials Design and Manufacturing coverage area at Lux Research, a strategic advisory and market research firm. He provided strategic advice and technical expertise on advanced materials, design, and manufacturing technologies to corporate clients across end markets. His role involved managing a compelling research agenda, authoring company profiles, analyst insights, and market reports, scouting and interviewing startups, as well as making introductions for clients to those startups. Dayton graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with his M.S. in Chemistry. He also graduated from the University of Connecticut as a University Scholar and Honors Scholar with his B.S. in Chemistry, and minors in Business and Materials Science & Engineering. He is a two-time alumnus of the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, and was one of three hundred national semifinalists in the annual Intel Science Talent Search.
