Julian Vickers is CEO of the Natural Resources Global (NRG) Capital Group. Julian has spent over 30 years in the Natural Resources sector and his career spans Investment Banking, Management Consulting and Industry. Prior to founding NRG, Julian was Global Co-Head of Natural Resources Investment Banking for Barclays, responsible for the Mining & Metals, Oil & Gas and Chemicals businesses of the bank, and was a member of the Investment Bank's Operating Committee in EMEA. Prior to 2009, Julian was Global Head of Energy Investment Banking for Citi, where he worked in the Energy sector for 12 years. During his career as an Investment Banker, Julian has advised on over 50 completed Acquisition and Divestment transactions in the Oil & Gas, Mining & Metals and Renewable Energy sectors and he has developed a broad range of Equity, Debt and Structured financing experience. Prior to 1997, Julian was a Strategic Management Consultant with McKinsey & Company, where he focused on Strategy Development, M&A Strategies, Performance Improvement and Post Merger Integration. He began his career in Natural Resources as an Exploration Geologist with Cominco, where he worked for 7 years on projects in North America, Europe and Asia. Julian holds a MBA from the London Business School, a First Class Honours Degree in Mining Geology from Imperial College, London, and is an Associate of the Royal School of Mines.
