Steve MacCulloch is a Managing Director at MPA. Steve is a financial professional with over 34 years of experience in investment banking and capital markets. Before joining MPA he was CEO of JCIC Asset Management, an employee owned firm managing investments for high net worth families and individuals. Prior to that he was Vice Chairman of Scotiabank’s Global Banking and Markets. Steve also worked in investment banking at Midland Walwyn and RBC Dominion Securities in Montreal and Toronto. In these roles he helped companies complete financing and M&A transactions totaling more than $60 billion in numerous industries, including consumer products, industrial products, utilities, telecommunications, media and technology. He has also provided valuations, fairness opinions and advice to companies and their Boards and acted as an expert witness. Steve previously served on the boards of Velan Inc. (where he was Chair of the Audit Committee), Alpine Canada, Partners for Mental Health, the Montreal General Hospital Corporation and the Montreal Chest Institute. Steve has a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of Western Ontario and has earned the Chartered Investment Manager designation. He studied French at Université de Grenoble, France.
