Alex Kim Bio

Mr. Kim is Managing Director, Head of Asia of Monroe Capital. He is responsible for expanding Monroe Capital’s business and footprint in the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Kim has over 24 years of experience in asset management and banking, with 19 years spent in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to Monroe, Mr. Kim was the CEO and Managing Director of Korea and Head of Southeast Asia Institutions at Aberdeen Standard Investments, having spent 10 years working with institutions and sovereign wealth funds, across traditional and private markets. Prior to Aberdeen Standard Investments, Mr. Kim held prior roles at Russell Investments, the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and Pacific Investment Management Co. (PIMCO). He earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine.
