Shelby Cowley is a Managing Director who partners with business owners and executives to maximize the outcome of middle-market corporate finance transactions. Shelby joined MidCap advisors in 2024 after serving as the Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions at Acrisure. During her 7 years at Acrisure, she evaluated over 1000 agencies and completed 187 acquisitions on behalf of the company. Having deployed nearly $2B in capital in the space, Shelby understands what factors help maximize the valuation of a company and what a buyer is looking for in a transaction. Shelby is passionate about helping her clients not only maximize their valuation, but helping them find a buyer that is the right fit for themselves, their clients and their employees. Shelby is able to leverage her vast buy-side experience in to help owners execute on all phases of a transaction and make the process as seamless as possible. Shelby focuses primarily on the insurance and financial services industries; including retail brokers, MGAs, MGUs, TPAs, PEOs and Retirement and Wealth Advisors. Shelby holds a BS in Accounting and Finance and a MBA with a specialization in Financial Analysis from Indiana University. Shelby is also a licensed CPA in the state of IL. She currently splits her time between Chicago, IL and Scottsdale, AZ.
