Bio

Elisabetta Magistretti has been director of Mediobanca since October 2011. She has a degree in Economics and Business from the Bocconi University in Milan, and is registered as a chartered accountant. From 1972 to 2001 she worked for Arthur Andersen, becoming a partner in 1984; in 2001 she became Central Manager and Head of Administration Governance at Unicredit. Later, in 2006, she became Head of Group Internal Audit, a position she holds until April 2009. From 2003 to February 2013 she was non-executive Director of Unicredit Audit. From 2010 to April 2012 she was a member of the audit committee di Unicredit Bulbank, Bulgaria and the Supervisory Board of ZAO Unicredit Russia. She has also been Management Board member of Italian national accounting body (2002-11) and BoD member of Interbank Deposit Protection Fund (from 2002 to 2009).
