Bio

In 2017, Courtney joined MediaBridge as its third Managing Partner. Courtney has played central roles in key company transactions, including the sale of Solid State Logic and Sound Devices to Audiotonix and the sale of Audix Microphones to Videndum (The Vitec Group at that time). When MediaBridge was founded, Courtney joined as a senior industry advisor and helped drive transactions including the sale of Minnetonka Audio Software to Telos Alliance and the PE financing of Cambridge MA-based audio software innovator iZotope. Previously, Courtney was Senior Vice President, Professional Audio, Americas, for D&M Holdings, overseeing Calrec, Allen & Heath, Denon Pro, Denon DJ, and Marantz Pro. He played a key role in the company’s M&A team, evaluating numerous potential targets and leading the post-acquisition integration of Calrec and Allen & Heath. Courtney was VP and General Manager of Pro Audio for Sony’s Business and Professional Group for 12 years. Over that time, Courtney led the group through the launch of over 100 pro audio products from wireless microphones and Sony’s (still industry-leading) pro headphone lineup to high-end digital multitrack recorders and recording consoles. Courtney was previously VP of Sales for WaveFrame Corp., a venture capital-funded pioneer in digital audio workstations (DAWs). Prior to WaveFrame, Courtney was vice president and general manager of Martin Audio in NYC, the largest US pro audio dealer in the US at that time. Other industry experiences include a stint in consulting with an industry colleague, Roland MacBeth, serving professional, consumer/residential, and commercial audio clients. Courtney also held previous management roles with two leading studio architecture and acoustical/system design firms. Early career positions included over a decade as a radio producer and recording engineer for a leading NYC-based radio and commercial music production house.
