Stuart Sanford brings 12+ years of accounting, valuation, capital markets and transaction experience to Mazzone & Associates. Since joining Mazzone, Mr. Sanford has advised on 20+ transactions in manufacturing, distribution, industrial services, building products & services, business services, healthcare and specialty finance. Stuart leads the firm’s financial sponsor coverage, which includes maintaining strong relationships within the institutional private equity and private debt community. Mr. Sanford’s deal execution experience is diverse and spreads across assignments including sell-side, buy-side and financing engagements. Prior to joining Mazzone, Mr. Sanford began his career with Deloitte in its New York City office, spending nearly four years as an auditor within its alternative investment management group, rising to senior associate. While at Deloitte, Mr. Sanford served many well-known private equity groups, hedge funds and family offices. During his tenure, he obtained his CPA license with the New York State Society of CPAs and is currently an active member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). As a member of the alternative investment management group, he received further training in financial statement analysis, valuation of private companies, and exposure to a wide variety of financial products. Mr. Sanford remains active in the community volunteering at Atlanta Food Bank, Trees Atlanta, and Cathedral of Christ the King. Mr. Sanford holds a Bachelor of Science degree with special attainments in commerce from Washington and Lee University (W&L) and graduated with cum laude honors.
