Mr. Murphy is one of the founding partners of Maxim Group LLC and is a member of the Executive Management Committee. Mr. Murphy has been part of the Wall Street community for over 35 years. Prior to his role of Chief Financial Officer at Maxim Group, he was Vice President and Controller of Investec Ernst & Company and participated on the Executive Management and Credit Committee. In 1995, while at Banco Bilbao Vizcaya, one of Spain’s leading banking institutions, he originated the US broker-dealer operations, BBV Securities, and served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Murphy’s international financial experience began in 1989 as Controller of Dresdner Securities (USA), Inc. Previously, he worked with Robb, Peck & McCooey, one of the NYSE’s largest floor specialists. In 1983, Mr. Murphy began his career with Merrill Lynch – Asset Management. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from LaSalle University in 1983.
