Mr. Edens' career, prior to founding Marion Financial Corp. in 1988, was as the chief financial officer of Bayou Resources, Inc., a publicly held oil and gas company, which acquired companies and properties. The company was sold to a NYSE company in 1987. His formal education includes a B.S. degree in Accounting from McNeese State University and a M.S. degree in Accounting (with a concentration in finance) from the University of Houston. Mr. Edens is a former Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and his current professional affiliations include the Association for Corporate Growth and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). He is an Investment Banking Representative with McLean Securities, LLC. and has the S79 and S63 registrations. Mr. Edens has appeared at numerous state, national and international trade conventions to speak on M&A transaction and valuation topics. In addition, Mr. Edens has had numerous articles published in trade journals regarding merger, acquisition and valuation issues. He has also co-chaired an industry conference in 1998 titled - Mergers & Acquisitions in the Collections and Accounts Receivable Management Industry. Mr. Edens was on the Board of Advisors for the Collections & Credit Risk magazine published monthly by Source Media for over ten years. In addition, he was Chairman of Affiliate Member Committee of ACA International from 2000 to 2003.
