Ripley Carlson, Vice President, is based in Marathon Capital’s San Francisco office. He is responsible for executing M&A and capital raise engagements in the renewable power and cleantech sectors, conducting due diligence, and supporting Marathon Capital’s relationship management. During his time at Marathon Capital, Ripley has worked on several successful transactions including the SWTCH's $27mm Series B, the sale of Pro-Tech to Madison Energy Investments, Perch Energy’s $30m Series B capital raise, Ashtrom Renewable Energy’s Production Tax Credit transfer and $270m debt financing for a 400 MW solar facility, tax equity and debt raise for Serena's 265.5 MW Goodnight Wind development, and Solstice’s sale to MyPower. Prior to Marathon Capital, Ripley worked in management consulting and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic. He also freelanced for Pivotal 180—a renewable energy project finance consulting and training startup—and interned with Marathon Capital as a Summer Associate. Ripley received a BA in Economics and Eco-Entrepreneurship from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. He is fluent in Spanish. He holds Series 63 and 79 licenses.
