Bio

Ripley Carlson, Vice President, is based in Marathon Capital’s San Francisco office. He is responsible for executing M&A and capital raise engagements in the renewable power and cleantech sectors, conducting due diligence, and supporting Marathon Capital’s relationship management.​ During his time at Marathon Capital, Ripley has worked on several successful transactions including the SWTCH's $27mm Series B, the sale of Pro-Tech to Madison Energy Investments, Perch Energy’s $30m Series B capital raise, Ashtrom Renewable Energy’s Production Tax Credit transfer and $270m debt financing for a 400 MW solar facility, tax equity and debt raise for Serena's 265.5 MW Goodnight Wind development, and Solstice’s sale to MyPower.​ Prior to Marathon Capital, Ripley worked in management consulting and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic. He also freelanced for Pivotal 180—a renewable energy project finance consulting and training startup—and interned with Marathon Capital as a Summer Associate.​ Ripley received a BA in Economics and Eco-Entrepreneurship from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. He is fluent in Spanish. He holds Series 63 and 79 licenses.
