Steve Tipler is a Managing Director and Co-Head of North American Private Equity Coverage at Lazard. He has more than 20 years of experience in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, finance, and other strategic transactions. Steve has successfully represented dozens of companies, completing transactions for and with entrepreneurs, private equity groups, and public companies in a broad range of industries. As Co-Head of Lazard’s North American Private Equity Coverage, Steve manages relationships with many of the world’s leading private equity firms and family offices. Prior to joining Lazard in 2005, Steve practiced law with the international law firm of Fredrikson & Byron, P.A. in Minneapolis. As an attorney, Steve advised businesses ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies on a variety of legal and corporate finance matters, such as the corporate and securities aspects of mergers and acquisitions, strategic transactions, public and private securities offerings, Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and compliance, and a wide array of general corporate finance issues. Steve received a Master of Business Administration degree from The Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He graduated magna cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law.
