Julio Cardenal is a senior partner at Landmark Alantra. He was previously a founding partner at IB Partners, the predecessor company of Landmark Alantra, and prior to that he was representative in Chile for UBS/Swiss Bank and head of its investment banking division SG Warburg for Chile, Peru and Bolivia. Julio has extensive experience in M&A transactions in Chile, the region, and also in the United States and Europe. Examples of transactions he has advised on include advising BCI on the purchase of City National Bank in Miami, the sale of 60% of FerreterÃas Imperial to Sodimac, 51% of Centrovet to the French company Virbac, the sale of Portalinmobiliario to Mercado Libre, the purchase of the SalcoBrand pharmacy chain by Empresas Juan Yarur, the purchase of a significant stake in Soquimich by PotashCorp, the sale of Forum Servicios Financieros to BBVA, and the sale of Banco Granahorrar in Colombia acting as advisor to the Government. He has been director of SalcoBrand, Industrias Ceresita, FerreterÃas Imperial and Soquimich on behalf of PotashCorp. He is an Aeronautical Engineer from Imperial College, University of London and has an MBA from IESE (University of Navarra).
