Sourav Mallik is Managing Director & Deputy CEO, Kotak Investment Banking and heads the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions Advisory practice. Sourav joined Kotak Mahindra Group in 1999. He is a specialist in M&A Advisory, Deal Structuring, Restructuring and Valuations, for both domestic and cross border transactions. Some of the landmark deals that Sourav has spearheaded include ING Vysya's merger with Kotak Mahindra Bank and subsequent divestment of stake by ING, Tech Mahindra's acquisition of Satyam and subsequent consolidation/buyback, divestment of Star Health, merger-demerger of Birlasoft & KPIT Technologies to create two independently controlled listed entities, global merger of CIE Automotives international forging business with M&M's various auto component businesses. He has also advised many Indian and multinational companies on open offers, buybacks and delisting offers, including Infosys' multiple buybacks, S&P's conditional open offer for Crisil and iGate's delisting of Patni. Sourav has led Kotak's cross border advisory practice which include marquee deals such as Vodafone's merger with Idea, Ingenico's acquisition of Tech Process, Lafarge's acquisition of Raymond's cement business, CRH's JV with My Home Industries, Hitachi's acquisition of Prizm Payment Services, and Kokuyo's acquisition of Camlin. Sourav was a member of the SEBI's Takeover Regulations Advisory Committee, which recommended the current Takeover Regulations for Indian listed companies. Sourav brings a multi-disciplinary background, being an Engineer (IIT, Delhi) and MBA (IIM, Ahmedabad) with over 25 years of experience in investment banking.
