Bio

A Fiji citizen, George is a highly experienced mining engineer and mineral economist, with broad expertise in corporate finance and government-business relations. He received his initial tertiary education in Australia, where he completed a BE (Mining) from UNSW; a Graduate Certificate (Engineering Mgt) from Monash University; a MSc (Mineral Economics) from Curtin Business School and West Australian School of Mines; and an MBA from Deakin University. He subsequently completed the Edward S. Mason Program in Public Policy and Management at Harvard University in the US, graduating with a Masters in Public Administration. George was previously the CEO of Morobe Consolidated Goldfields Ltd and Wafi Mining Ltd (in Papua New Guinea), subsidiaries of Harmony Gold Mining Company Ltd of South Africa. In this role, his key corporate objective was to commission both the Hidden Valley and Wafi mining projects in the Morobe Province. Possessing varied industry, regulatory, management and consultancy experience in Fiji, Australia and PNG, George is licensed as an Investment Advisor representative by the Capital Markets Development Authority.
