Brian L. Melton currently serves as a Managing Director and Co-Head of Traditional & Clean Energy Investment Banking at Janney Montgomery Scott. From September 2019 until July 2023, Mr. Melton served as the Senior Vice President of Commercial/Business Development for privately held Northstar Midstream based in The Woodlands, TX. Prior to joining Northstar, Mr. Melton served as the Chief Commercial Officer for Blueknight Energy Partners and Vice-President of Pipeline Marketing & Business Development. Before his time at Blueknight, Mr. Melton served as Vice-President of Business Development / Corporate Strategy for Crestwood Equity Partners, L.P., Crestwood Midstream Energy Partners, L.P., and Inergy, L.P. from September 2008 until December 2013. Prior to joining Inergy in 2008, Mr. Melton was a Director in the Energy Corporate Investment Banking groups of Wachovia Securities and A.G. Edwards, preceeding its merger with Wachovia Securities in October of 2007. Mr. Melton joined A.G. Edwards in July 2000 and was a senior member of the energy corporate finance team. From November 1995 until July 2000, Mr. Melton served as Director of Finance & Corporate Planning with TransMontaigne Inc., a downstream refined products supply, transportation and logistics company. Mr. Melton served on the Board of Directors and head of the Audit Committee of San Antonio, TX based exploration and production company Abraxas Petroleum Corporation from October 2009 until September 2022. Mr. Melton received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and a Master of Business Administration degree from Arkansas State University.
