Co-founder & Senior Managing Director
and access,
Mike is responsible for originating and executing M&A and capital markets transactions. He serves in a leadership role on the firm’s executive committee. In addition, he spends a significant amount of his time mentoring the firm’s younger bankers. His investment banking career spans three decades, during which time he served as CEO of Barrington Associates and Intrepid, prior to assuming his current role. Moreover, his experience includes co-heading the Middle Market Group of Wells Fargo Securities and serving on the firm’s Operating, Commitment and Fairness Opinion Committees. Mike is active in and has held leadership roles in various philanthropic organizations, including serving as President and Co-Founder of Westcoast Sports Associates, whose charter is to improve the lives of underprivileged children through participation in sports. Prior to co-founding Intrepid, Mike was one of the Principal Partners of Barrington, a leading middle-market investment bank. In 2006, Wells Fargo Securities acquired Barrington to serve as its M&A platform. Prior to joining Barrington, Mike was an officer of Foothill Capital Corp. (now Wells Fargo Capital Finance), where he financed middle-market companies in the Western U.S. In addition, he worked at Bear Stearns & Co., in the firm’s Corporate Finance and Real Estate departments. Although he has an embarrassingly high handicap (which is great for winning golf bets), he is an avid golfer who has traveled on several occasions to Scotland and Ireland for “once in a lifetime” golf trips. In addition, Mike is a big fan of English bulldogs (he has two) and is an avowed Parrothead, having attended more than 20 Jimmy Buffet concerts.
