Bio

Mr. Steffen is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Industrials Group. He focuses primarily on the building materials and forest products sectors. Mr. Steffen is based in the firm’s Dallas office. Mr. Steffen was previously Co-Head of the Americas Industrials Practice and the European Industrials Practice at Nomura Securities Co. Ltd. in New York and London. Prior to his positions at Nomura, he was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers, Inc., both in London and New York. Mr. Steffen began his investment banking career in the early 1990s as an Analyst at Merrill Lynch & Co. and as an Associate and Vice President at Morgan Stanley & Co. Mr. Steffen has worked with a diverse set of clients within the building materials and forest products sectors, representing a myriad of transaction types, including M&A, capital markets, and restructuring advisory. Residential construction clients he has advised during his career include Masco Corp.; Goodman Global, Inc.; Alcoa Home Exteriors, Inc./Ply Gem Hlds Inc.; Lennox International, Inc.; William Lyon Homes; KB Home; Louisiana Pacific Corp./ABT Building Products Corp.; Lennar Corp./U.S. Home; and Armstrong World Industries, Inc. His select non-residential/infrastructure clients include Johnson Controls, Inc./York; Ingersoll-Rand Co.; Musters Corp.; Fläkt Woods Group; Daikin Industries Ltd.; CRH PLC, Summit Materials LLC; Saint Gobain Corp.; Mueller Water Products, Inc.; URS Corp.; Tyco International Ltd./Sensormatic Electronics Corp.; and P.H. Glatfelter & Co. In addition to his time in Europe, Mr. Steffen has advised clients throughout Asia. Mr. Steffen holds B.A. degrees in Economics and English Literature and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
