Mike Young is a principal with Heritage Capital Group. Mike’s primary focus is advising clients in metals, distribution, and logistics businesses on merger and acquisition transactions. He began his career at Newport News Iron & Steel as the general manager, overseeing project management and retail operations. Later, he joined Chatham Steel Corporation, eventually becoming vice president and COO, managing various departments and locations. From 2018 to 2022, he served as president and CEO of Klein Steel Service, Inc., guiding the company through a period of improvement that culminated in its successful sale. Mike is actively engaged in community service outside of work, serving on several boards, including the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) and the United Way of the Coastal Empire. He pursued his education at Christopher Newport University and the University of South Carolina and completed a program in strategic metals management at the Olin School of Business at Washington University.
