Laurence Smith Bio

Laurence Smith is a managing director at Harris Williams. As a senior leader within its Private Capital Advisory Group, he focuses on primary fund placement, private capital solutions, and origination. Laurence is responsible for setting and executing operating strategy, managing due diligence, and integrating the sales strategy with project management for primary fund placement. Laurence has nearly four decades of experience in the financial services industry, covering both corporate and institutional investors. He also co-founded and sold one of Japan’s largest manufacturers of frozen specialty bread products. He is based in New York. B.A. in Philosophy from Yale University.
