Mr. Smith co-heads the Harris Williams Healthcare & Life Sciences Group. Mr. Smith has advised both public and private companies in a variety of merger and acquisition and strategic advisory assignments. During his career, Mr. Smith has advised clients across a variety of healthcare segments, including payer and provider services, healthcare information technology, medical and life science devices and products, and healthcare facilities and alternate site care. Prior to focusing on healthcare clients, Mr. Smith advised clients across a wide range of other industries, including consumer products, building products and materials, paper and packaging, and minerals and mining. Previous experience includes work as an equity analyst in the Global Equity Research Group at Putnam Investments and as a consultant in the Strategy Practice at Kurt Salmon Associates, a retail, consumer products, and health care-focused consulting firm. Mr. Smith earned an M.B.A. from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.B.A in Finance, magna cum laude, from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
